Rajnath Singh has called on German industry leaders to partner with India in co-developing and co-producing advanced defence technologies, emphasising the importance of reliable partnerships amid global uncertainties. He made the remarks while addressing Indian and German defence industry representatives at the Defence Investor Summit in Munich on April 23, 2026.

Highlighting shifting geopolitical dynamics, supply chain disruptions, and rapid technological change, he stressed that trusted collaborations are essential for resilience and long-term stability. He positioned India as an attractive partner, offering a large and growing market, skilled workforce, and a stable, policy-driven industrial ecosystem.

Rajnath Singh underlined that India’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative is not inward-looking but encourages global collaboration. He invited German companies to explore opportunities in areas such as advanced radar systems, AI-enabled unmanned platforms, multi-sensor technologies, and underwater defence systems.

Referring to India’s long-term vision of becoming a developed nation by 2047 under Narendra Modi, he noted that defence manufacturing is central to economic growth, innovation, and strategic autonomy.

During the visit, Singh also held talks with Boris Pistorius in Berlin and visited a submarine facility in Kiel, further strengthening Indo-German defence cooperation.
