The BJP launched a vicious attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) amid the controversy surrounding videos taken from Delhi minister Satyendar Jain’s prison cell, saying Manish Sisodia should study the jail handbook since you never know who enjoys the hospitality next.
The BJP just published a new video from Mr. Jain’s cell in Tihar Jail, where he is currently being tried for alleged money laundering. The AAP leader is seen in the video eating salad, fruit, and other goodies. The AAP has not yet commented on the latest footage.
A day after the minister complained in court about poor nutrition and a 28-kg weight loss, the clip was made public. According to sources inside the prison, the video, which documents three days in September and October, categorically rejects the statements made by the minister. According to the sources, the minister hadn’t dropped 28 kg but had instead gained 8 kg while incarcerated.
In the lead-up to the Delhi municipal elections and amid its ongoing verbal battle with the AAP over an earlier video in which the imprisoned minister was seen receiving a massage, the new clip has given the BJP ammunition. The AAP refuted the BJP’s claims that the minister had access to special facilities while incarcerated and claimed that he had been receiving physiotherapy for back pain.
The BJP leader expressed her displeasure at the minister receiving a massage from the man who is allegedly responsible for raping a youngster.
The Department of Prisons of the Delhi government is in charge of Tihar Jail.
Earlier, Mr. Sisodia had called the BJP shameless for making a spectacle out of a sick person receiving medical attention. He had claimed that Mr. Jain had received physiotherapy advice following two spinal operations.
