Real Madrid Lose Defender Antonio Rudiger With Muscle Injury

News Mania Desk / Piyal Chatterjee / 13th September 2025

Antonio Rudiger, the center back for Real Madrid, may be out for two months due to a left leg injury, according to reports released on Friday. While Rudiger, 32, sustained the injury during training on Friday, the AS daily reported that it was “serious” and that he will undergo additional testing in the coming days.

“An injury to his rectus femoris muscle” was discovered by scans, according to a statement from Real, but it did not specify how long he would be sidelined. This season, the seasoned German international has only made one appearance in La Liga.

Despite his injuries, he managed to play 55 games for the team last season.

This summer, Real Madrid acquired another center-back from Bournemouth, signing 20-year-old Dean Huijsen, a Spanish international who was born in the Netherlands.

However, it is rumored that the Spanish powerhouses are eager to sign Ibrahima Konate, a center-back for France, from Premier League winners Liverpool, perhaps at the end of this season.

The 13-time European winners start their winners League campaign at home against Marseille on Tuesday, while Real Madrid takes on Real Sociedad on the road in La Liga on Saturday.
