Reddit Unveils AI-Powered ‘Community Intelligence’ Tools to Help Brands Tap into Real-Time User Conversations

Reddit has introduced a new suite of artificial intelligence (AI) tools called Community Intelligence, aimed at helping advertisers better understand and engage with users on its platform. Unveiled during the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, this move marks Reddit’s strategic push into advanced, conversation-based advertising, built upon its rich database of more than 22 billion posts and comments.
The key feature of this launch is Reddit Insights, a real-time social listening tool that lets advertisers analyze ongoing community discussions across Reddit’s numerous subreddits. It enables marketers to uncover emerging trends, track user sentiment, validate their campaign messaging, and monitor brand perception—all driven by AI trained on Reddit’s vast and unique conversational data.
Another major addition is the Conversation Summary Add-On, a feature that allows Reddit ads to include AI-curated summaries of real, positive user comments related to the brand. These summaries are placed below the advertisement, offering organic social proof and enhancing ad credibility. Reddit says this helps build trust between the user and the advertiser, as it reflects authentic community voices rather than corporate messaging.
Early trials of the Community Intelligence suite have shown promising results. Companies like Jackbox Games and Lucid Motors have seen up to a 19% increase in click-through rates on ads that featured this new format. These results underscore the power of genuine community engagement in improving ad effectiveness.
Reddit’s approach differs from other platforms like Snapchat or Pinterest by leveraging authentic, user-generated content rather than synthetic or AI-created material. The company believes that these organic conversations provide more meaningful insights and a deeper connection between brands and consumers.
The announcement had a positive impact on Reddit’s stock, with shares rising nearly 4%, indicating investor confidence in the company’s new AI-driven advertising strategy.
