Kolkata, November 3: Shri Nagathihalli Ramesh, a prominent agriculturist from Karnataka, has made a heartfelt appeal to both the State and Central Governments, as well as to society at large, to come together and save the farmers— the true backbone of the nation.

A well-known writer, poet, thinker, and environmentalist, Shri Ramesh has been an influential voice in the farmers’ movement, advocating for their rights and sustainable agricultural development. Born into a farming family, he draws deeply from his personal experiences to highlight the struggles and contributions of farmers in building a prosperous India.

In his message, Shri Ramesh stressed that “if the farmers are not saved, the people will die of hunger,” urging immediate measures for water conservation, pollution control, and comprehensive support systems for the agricultural community. He also emphasized the significance of spiritual growth, righteous living, and unwavering commitment to one’s principles.

Expressing his deep admiration for Bengal’s rich cultural heritage, Shri Ramesh shared his fondness for Kolkata— a city he holds close to his heart. Having already visited from Kalighat to Dakshineswar Bhavatarini, he expressed his wish to visit the revered Shakti Peeth Tarapith on his next trip.

His message serves as a timely reminder of the need for unity, compassion, and collective action to secure the future of India’s farmers.
