Scottish Church College fondly remembered three legendary Alumini Swami Vivekananda, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose & Suchitra Mitra

Scottish Church College and Scottish Church College Former Students Association ( SCCFSA) fondly remembered and paid rich tribute to three legendary Alumini of the college Swami Vivekananda, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and Suchitra Mitra in an elegant function at college premises on 17th January 2024 .
Sri Hiren Singharay, noted global banking finance person and alumnus of the college was awarded Swami Vivekananda award and Pandit Tanmoy Bose the tabla Maestro another alumnus received the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose award.
Sri Hiren Singharay was awarded Swami Vivekananda Award 2024 in recognition of his strategic, innovative and forward thinking in the area of Banking and Finance which has led to ground-breaking new business activities for Banks into uncharted territories of Eastern Europe, Afica and South Alsia.
Pandit Tanmoy Bose was awarded Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Award 2024 in recognition of his contribution in the field of Music and Culture. Pandit Tanmoy Bose is genius who can bring changes of mood of his captivated listeners with renditions.
Swami Vivekananda and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose are fondly remembered by college authority as well as former and present students through the award program & ceremony . Incidentally , January is birth month of Swami Vivekananda, and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. Suchitra Mitra passed away in January.
Function was organised to pay tributes & to commemorate Birth Centenary year of illustrious alumnus Suchitra Mitra ( 19 September 1924- 3 January 2011 ) the noted singer of Tagore songs.
Dr. Madhumanjari Mondal, the Principal,Dr. Sadananda Bhattacharya, Secretary SCCFSA, Dr. Supratim Das, Vice Principal and other dignitaries and alumni graced the occasion. Sri Alok Roy Chowdhury, versatile singer narrated his moments with Suchitra Mitra and performed songs. Smt. Protyusha Dutta Chakraborty another alumnus residing at USA became nostalgic and performed brilliantly some melodies of Suchitra Mitra.
The program was grand celebration of the spirit of bonhomieness and camaraderie amongst college authority as well as former students .
