In 2023, Shah Rukh Khan dominated the box office with three major hits—Pathaan, Jawan, and Dunki. His return to the big screen began with Pathaan, released in January, marking his comeback after a four-year hiatus. The film, which co-starred Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, received significant acclaim and was a major box office success. Following Pathaan, Jawan, released in September 2023, also featured Deepika Padukone, along with Nayanthara, Ridhi Dogra, and Vijay Sethupathi. The film broke records, becoming the highest-grossing Hindi film ever with a staggering net collection of Rs 643 crore in India alone.
The year concluded with the release of Dunki, which was Shah Rukh Khan’s first collaboration with acclaimed director Rajkumar Hirani. The film, which also starred Vicky Kaushal and Taapsee Pannu, explores the lives of individuals taking the unconventional ‘Donkey Flight’ route and the challenges they encounter. The film was well-received and added to Khan’s impressive lineup of successful films.
Looking ahead, Shah Rukh Khan is set to feature in King, with shooting for the film currently underway. This forthcoming project promises to further solidify Khan’s status as a leading figure in Bollywood and beyond.
