The second game, which saw Akula fighting off a three-point deficit to eventually win in a tie-breaker, showcased her competitive spirit and adaptability.

The Indian player then demonstrated her dominance by taking the third and fourth games comfortably. Joining her compatriot Manika Batra in the pre-quarterfinals, Akula has contributed to a remarkable milestone for Indian table tennis. Looking ahead, Akula will face China’s Sun Yingsha, the world number one, in the pre-quarterfinals. This match will be a significant test for the Indian player, who has already demonstrated exceptional skill and determination throughout the tournament.
