Stalin Meets Mamata, But Neither Of Them Mentions Politics

Although she referred to him as her brother and portrayed their meeting as a courtesy call, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee met her Tamil Nadu counterpart M K Stalin at his Chennai home on November 2.

The opposition parties are rumored to be uniting to fight the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections of 2024, and Telangana’s K Chandrashekar Rao has announced the formation of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi, which they will meet with for around 20 minutes.

Banerjee claimed that neither she nor Stalin had a conversation about the matter with their respective governors. Ganesan, a prominent member of the BJP in Tamil Nadu, was appointed governor of Manipur and assumed additional responsibility for Bengal in July. He and Banerjee have disagreed in the past. The DMK administration in power in Tamil Nadu has also been at odds with R N Ravi.

On November 2, Balu wrote to like-minded members of the Parliament from different political parties asking them to sign a letter to the president requesting Ravi’s immediate recall by November 3.

Stalin described Banerjee as having a vibrant personality while posting pictures from their meeting and a conversation on Twitter. She extended an invitation for him to visit Kolkata at a later date, which he enthusiastically accepted, according to Stalin.

Rule of the Commoner: DMK and the Formations of the Political in Tamil Nadu, 1949–1967 is the book he gave her.
