According to reports cited by the news agency, a three-member committee established by the Supreme Court started looking into the alleged cash finding issue connected to Delhi High Court Judge Justice Yashwant Varma on Tuesday.

Justice Yashwant Varma’s official bungalow at 30 Tughlak Crescent in Delhi was visited by Justice Sheel Nagu, Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court; Justice GS Sandhawalia, Chief Justice of the Himachal Pradesh High Court; and Justice Anu Sivaraman, a Karnataka High Court judge, as part of the investigation.

Before departing, the judges allegedly inspected the residence for thirty to thirty-five minutes.

Firefighters and police officers allegedly found the money after a fire broke out in the storage of Justice Yashwant Varma’s official apartment in the upscale Lutyens neighborhood of Delhi on March 14.

A three-member panel was established by Chief Justice of India Sanjiv Khanna on March 22 to look into the finding of “four to five semi-burnt sacks” of Indian rupee notes following the fire event. Justice Varma vehemently refuted the accusations, stating that neither he nor any of my family members ever put money in the storeroom.
