In a historic political moment for West Bengal, BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari took oath as the Chief Minister of the state today morning at a grand swearing-in ceremony attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
The ceremony witnessed the presence of several senior BJP leaders, chief ministers from BJP-ruled states, party workers, industrialists, and thousands of supporters celebrating the beginning of a new political era in Bengal.

Suvendu Adhikari, who led the BJP’s aggressive electoral campaign across the state, took the oath of office and secrecy amid loud chants of “Jai Shri Ram” and “Sonar Bangla.” Alongside him, several senior BJP leaders are expected to be inducted into the new cabinet in phases.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the new Chief Minister and expressed confidence that the new government would focus on development, good governance, industrial revival, infrastructure expansion, and employment generation in West Bengal.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah described the occasion as a “historic democratic transformation” and said the BJP government would work toward restoring administrative stability and strengthening law and order in the state.
The oath-taking ceremony marks the formal beginning of BJP’s first full-fledged government in West Bengal, ending decades of dominance by regional political forces in the state.
