At the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave the event’s inaugural speech at SEMICON 2024 . In his inaugural speech, Prime Minister Modi declared that this is the ideal moment to be in India.
“The chips are never down in India in the twenty-first century,” he remarked. When the chips are down, the world can place a wager on India.”
PM Modi emphasized how special India’s semiconductor sector is and how the government has fostered an atmosphere that is encouraging to it. He emphasized that the nation’s stable rules and favorable business environment make it a desirable location for businesses looking to engage in the semiconductor industry.
He went on to say that the government is dedicated to creating a workforce of 85,000 engineers, technicians, and R&D specialists in the semiconductor industry. In a recent speech, he stressed how critical it is to improve the nation’s semiconductor infrastructure.
Using the term “3-D power,” PM Modi emphasized the potential of the Indian semiconductor industry and listed the country’s growing market, a reform-minded administration, and an increasing manufacturing base as important growth drivers. According to him, semiconductor chips offer a way to realize millions of people’s dreams, not just a piece of technology.
According to a report by Invest India, the semiconductor market in India is expected to increase at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 17.10%, from its current valuation of roughly $23.2 billion to $80.3 billion by 2028.
The three-day Semicon India 2024 event will highlight India’s semiconductor strategy and policies in an effort to further boost this industry. The conference, which will be attended by top executives from major international semiconductor companies as well as businesspeople, industry leaders, and experts from across the globe, intends to establish India as a global center for semiconductor manufacturing.
