The Goat Life, a Malayalam movie, receives two nominations for the Hollywood Music in Media Awards

The Goat Life, a Malayalam film, has been nominated for two 2024 Hollywood Music in Media Awards.The song “Periyone” by Oscar-winning composer A R Rahman is nominated in the “Song-Feature Film” category. Rahman and Rafiq Ahamed wrote the song, which Jithin Raj performed.
Rahman’s background score for the Malayalam film “Aadujeevitham” has earned him a nomination in the “Score-Independent Film” category. Prithviraj Sukumaran starred in the movie, which came out in March of this year. The Hollywood Music in Media Academy hosts the HMMAs, which celebrate creative music in all forms of visual media worldwide, such as TV, movies, video games, trailers, ads, documentaries, and special shows.
With more over a hundred songwriters, composers, performers, and films, the 2024 HMMA nominees represent a wide spectrum of talent. Along with well-known composers like Hans Zimmer, Harry Gregson-Williams, Kris Bowers, and the pair Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross, the list features pop stars like Elton John, Brandi Carlile, Miley Cyrus, Lainey Wilson, and Pharrell Williams.
The Avalon Theatre in Los Angeles will host the award presentation on November 20. The Goat Life’s official Instagram page commemorated the movie’s two HMMA nominations.
“We are incredibly proud of this achievement and grateful for the incredible talent involved in bringing this powerful piece to life. Big congratulations to the entire The Goat Life team and all the other nominees! Let’s celebrate music, storytelling, and the magic that happens when both come together,” the post read.
Singer Jithin Raj also shared a post about the nomination for the song “Periyone,” thanking the movie’s director Blessy and Rahman for the “opportunity and constant support.”
“Congratulations to all the nominees! Here’s to celebrating the magic of music and cinema,” he posted on Instagram.
“The Goat Life” is based on Benyamin’s 2008 best-selling book “Aadujeevitham” and tells the true story of Najeeb, a young man who left Kerala’s verdant coastlines in the early 1990s to seek his fortune abroad. The movie, which was produced by Visual Romance, also stars Amala Paul and KR Gokul. Jimmy Jean-Louis from Hollywood and Talib al Balushi and Rik Aby from the Arab world play important roles.
