The High Court Has Ordered That The Retirement Age For Teachers Be Raised From 62 To 65

The state administration was given an order by the Allahabad High Court’s Lucknow bench.

The Lucknow University teaching staff’s retirement age has undergone a significant modification. The state government has been ordered by the Lucknow division of the Allahabad High Court to raise the retirement age for these workers.

The retirement age ought to be raised from 62 to 65. In other words, three years will pass after this instruction is put into practice before the teaching staff at Lucknow University can retire.

The administration has been allowed three months by the court to modify the laws as needed to carry out the ruling. Please mention that this order was issued by Justice OP Shukla’s bench in response to a petition filed by Dr. Premchandra Mishra and others.

What were the petitioners’ comments?

The petitioners’ legal representative claimed that the Central Government had already resolved that the teaching staff retirement age at institutions of higher and technical education supported by the Center should be raised to 65 years of age. The University Grants Commission (UGC) subsequently ordered all universities to carry out the Center’s judgment in 2010. The petitioners said that Lucknow University must follow the UGC’s guidelines as well.
