NASA Publishes A Photo Of A Rare Iceberg Discovered In Antarctica

An iceberg that looks very different from a typical one has recently been published by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Both frequently and very rarely occur straight-edge icebergs, which have two straight edges that meet at a right angle. The iceberg’s picture is shown below:

As part of Operation IceBridge, which was NASA’s longest-running airborne survey of polar ice, the aforementioned photo was taken by the agency in 2018.

Project IceBridge

As part of the IceBridge mission, NASA planes flew across the Arctic, Antarctica, and Alaska to gather data on the sea ice, glaciers, and ice sheets, including their height, depth, thickness, movement, and any changes that may have occurred.

A geometrical mass of ice was discovered by NASA’s IceBridge team when they flew above the Larsen C ice shelf in Antarctica. It is unusual to see an iceberg with a rectangular shape.
