Third International Friendship Sculling Regatta opened in Kolkata on 26th November 2024 celebrating the theme ” Power of Friendship” . It was opened by Shri Debashis Kumar MLA & Member Mayor in Council of Kolkata Municipal Corporation in presence of Dr. Andrew Flaming Deputy High Commissioner of UK , participants , Sponsorers , and members of Calcutta Rowing Club ( CRC ), .
CRC is celebrating 100 years of its operation from its present location. Approximately 100 Scullers from , Australia , UK , New Zealand, Thailand , USA , South Africa , India are participating.
This is unique event one of its own kind. This event brainchild of pioneer , poly math , sports promotor Shri Chandan Roy Choudhary President of Calcutta Rowing Club. Amongst many prominent Scullers, Mr Jack Beaumont from UK (Leander’s
Club) is an Olympian who participated in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics winning the silver in the Mens Quadruple
and Mr Bajrang Lal Thakkar a Asian Games Gold medallist in the Sculls event 2010 and an Olympian .
