The aftermath of the collision led to the closure of the area for several hours to facilitate a thorough investigation. However, normal traffic flow resumed on Sunday morning once the investigation concluded. The Peoria Police Department assured the public that the cause of the collision is still under investigation, extending their sympathies to the victims, their families, and all individuals who provided aid during the tragic incident.
