In the early hours of Sunday, a Trinamool Congress (TMC) worker named Sajeev Das, also known as Patla, was allegedly beaten to death by members of a rival faction in the North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, according to police reports. Das, described as a history-sheeter with multiple cases against him, fell victim to a violent altercation between two TMC groups in the Paschimpara area of Baguiati.
The incident, stemming from a dispute over electricity, escalated into a physical confrontation late Saturday night, with both factions hurling bricks at each other.
