On December 25, 2024, India commemorated the 100th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee with a tribute at his memorial, ‘Sadaiv Atal’, in New Delhi. President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, and other dignitaries paid their respects to the esteemed leader.
Prime Minister Modi honored Vajpayee’s legacy by sharing a video tribute on social media, stating, “Respectful tributes to former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji on his 100th birth anniversary. He dedicated his life to building a strong, prosperous, and self-reliant India. His vision and mission will continue to give strength to the resolve for a developed India.”
The ceremony at ‘Sadaiv Atal’ was attended by several prominent leaders, including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP President JP Nadda, who gathered to honor Vajpayee’s enduring legacy
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) observed the day as ‘Good Governance Day’, celebrating Vajpayee’s contributions to India’s development. Atal Bihari Vajpayee, a Bharat Ratna awardee, served as Prime Minister three times and was instrumental in elevating the BJP to national prominence. His tenure is remembered for significant political and economic reforms that have had a lasting impact on the nation.
