Tahawwur Hussain Rana, a principal conspirator in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, has made shocking disclosures, stating that he was present in the city during the massacre and was a reliable agent for the Pakistani army, as reported by sources to India Today TV.

Rana, currently in the custody of the NIA at Tihar Jail in Delhi, informed the Mumbai Crime Branch during his interrogation that he and his associate David Coleman Headley participated in multiple training sessions with the Pakistan-based group Lashkar-e-Taiba, according to sources. He also indicated that the LeT primarily functioned as a spy network, they reported. Sources further revealed that Rana claimed the initiative to establish an immigration center for his company in Mumbai originated from him, and the financial transactions related to it were categorized as business expenses. He acknowledged being in Mumbai during the 26/11 attacks, which he stated was part of the terrorists’ strategy, sources disclosed.

Rana mentioned that he surveyed locations such as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and expressed his belief that the 26/11 attacks were executed in coordination with Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), sources indicated. At 64 years of age, he also stated that the Pakistani army had dispatched him to Saudi Arabia during the Khaleej War, sources added.

In the aftermath of his interrogation, the Mumbai Police are preparing to apprehend Rana at the earliest opportunity and take him into custody. Last month, a court in Delhi extended Rana’s judicial custody until July 9. The 26/11 Mumbai attacks, executed by ten Pakistani terrorists, led to the deaths of 166 individuals over a nearly 60-hour siege that targeted significant sites including the Taj and Oberoi hotels, Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, and the Jewish center Nariman House.
