US Used Weapons Worth ₹51,400 Crore in First 48 Hours of Iran Conflict: Report

The United States reportedly deployed weapons worth nearly $5.6 billion (around ₹51,400 crore) in the first 48 hours of its military campaign against Iran, underlining the scale and intensity of the early stages of the conflict.
According to reports citing defence officials and military assessments, the figure reflects only the estimated value of the munitions fired during the opening phase of the operation. It does not include other major costs associated with the war effort, such as the deployment of troops, aircraft, naval fleets, or logistical support. The military campaign began with a series of large-scale strikes targeting Iranian military facilities and strategic sites. The offensive was launched under the leadership of Donald Trump, with the objective of weakening Iran’s military capabilities and deterring further aggression in the region.
During the first two days of fighting, the US military reportedly used hundreds of high-value precision weapons, including cruise missiles and advanced guided munitions. The rapid deployment of such sophisticated weapons contributed to the enormous financial cost recorded in the initial phase of the conflict.
Military officials said the operation has involved widespread strikes across multiple locations in Iran. According to the United States Central Command, which oversees American military operations in the Middle East, thousands of targets linked to Iran’s military infrastructure have been struck since the beginning of the offensive. These attacks were carried out using a large number of precision munitions, demonstrating the scale of the military campaign.
The intense pace of the bombardment has sparked debate among lawmakers and defence analysts in Washington. Some members of the United States Congress have raised concerns that the heavy use of expensive weapons could put pressure on the country’s military stockpiles if the conflict continues for an extended period.
Experts say modern warfare relies heavily on precision-guided munitions, which are far more costly than conventional weapons but are designed to strike targets with greater accuracy. The large-scale use of these advanced systems in the early phase of the war highlights how quickly military resources can be consumed during high-intensity combat.
However, officials from the United States Department of Defense have attempted to ease concerns about the potential depletion of weapons supplies. They said the US military maintains sufficient reserves to sustain operations and remains capable of carrying out missions wherever required.
At the same time, reports suggest that the administration may soon request additional funding to support the ongoing campaign. The White House is expected to seek a supplemental defence budget from Congress to ensure that the military has adequate resources if the conflict continues. As the confrontation between the United States and Iran continues to unfold, the massive expenditure in just the first two days of fighting illustrates both the scale of the conflict and the significant resources required to sustain it.
