Vande Bharat Express Will Shortly Arrive In West Bengal And Probably Travel Along This Route

Raju Bista, a member of parliament from Darjeeling, stated on December 5 that West Bengal is set to receive its first Vande Bharat Express shortly. The train will connect Sealdah station in Kolkata with New Jalpaiguri station in the north Bengal city of Siliguri, according to a member of parliament who was speaking at a program at the Siliguri Junction railway station.

The Vande Bharat Express, India’s first semi-high-speed train, was introduced in 2019.

Better acceleration and deceleration are made possible by the train’s intelligent braking system, which was developed by Chennai’s Integral Coach Factory (ICF).

Automatic doors, a GPS-based audio-visual passenger information system, onboard Wi-Fi, and comfy seats are features shared by all coaches. The chairs in the executive class rotate.

Indian Railways debuted Vande Bharat 2, the high-speed train’s second iteration. Vande Bharat 2 has additional improvements and advancements, including a faster 0 to 100 Kmph time of 52 seconds, a top speed of 180 Kmph, a lighter weight of 392 tonnes as opposed to 430 tons, and WI-FI content on demand. Additionally, the new Vande Bharat will have 32-inch LCD TVs, up from the previous model’s 24-inch size. Travel will be more comfortable thanks to 15% more energy-efficient air conditioners and traction motor cooling by clean, dust-free air. All classes will now have access to the side recliner seat feature that is currently only offered to Executive Class passengers. Vande Bharat is a Semi High-Speed Shatabdi-style train that provides extra amenities and benefits to the passengers.

The photo-catalytic ultraviolet air purification technology is fitted in the roof-mounted Roof Mounted Package Unit (RMPU) for air purification in the new Vande Bharat Express design. This system is built and placed at both ends of the RMPU per the advice of Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (CSIO), Chandigarh, to filter and clean the air free from pathogens, bacteria, viruses, etc. coming through fresh air and return air.

By August 15, 2023, 75 new Vande Bharat Express trains will be introduced, according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
