Vikram Sahu, presently leading global equity research at Bank of America in New York, is poised to take over from Kaku Nakhate as the India country executive for the US-based bank, as per an internal memo seen by Business Standard.

For the past 15 years, Nakhate has been serving as country executive and CEO, overseeing the bank’s operations in India.

Nakhate will remain the CEO of Bank of America NA and will concentrate on nurturing senior current and prospective client relationships throughout India. He is scheduled to retire in 2026.

Sahu’s role as CEO of Bank of America NA will require approval from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). In his capacity as country executive for India, Sahu will oversee the Bank of America NA team in India, implement strategic growth initiatives, manage regulatory engagements, and ensure governance. Sahu will be accountable to Jin Su, the President of Asia Pacific for the bank.

Sahu boasts more than 25 years of expertise in the industry and possesses a bachelor’s degree from St. Stephens College in Delhi, as well as a master’s degree earned in the US.

Nakhate became a part of Bank of America NA in June 2010. Before joining the bank, she worked at JP Morgan.
