Vipin Gupta, Bengaluru Techie Missing: Wife Seeks Public’s Help as Police Face Criticism

In Bengaluru, a tech professional named Vipin Gupta has gone missing under mysterious circumstances, prompting his wife, Sreeparna Dutta, to make a heartfelt appeal for public assistance via social media. Gupta, who hails from Lucknow and works in the tech industry, has not been seen since August 4, leaving his wife and family in distress.
Dutta’s plea for help gained significant attention after she broadcasted a live video on Facebook, expressing her frustration and concern over the lack of prompt action from the local authorities. Gupta, who had no known addictions and was described as financially stable, was last spotted leaving their residence at 12:44 p.m. on his green Kawasaki motorcycle near Hebbal. Alarmingly, just hours after his departure, a substantial amount of Rs 1.8 lakh was withdrawn from his bank account, and his phone was turned off.
In her social media appeal, Dutta emphasized that there were no apparent reasons for her husband’s sudden disappearance and urged people to refrain from spreading unverified information or assumptions that could hinder the investigation. She expressed her urgent desire to bring her husband back safely and voiced her dissatisfaction with the police’s initial response to her case.
Dutta faced significant obstacles when she first reported her husband missing. She approached the Kodigehalli police station, but according to her claims, the police initially refused to register her complaint. It was only after repeated requests that an FIR was lodged on August 6, two days after Gupta vanished. This delay in action has added to the family’s anxiety and frustration.
In an effort to escalate the situation, Dutta reached out to senior police officials, including the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) and the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP). However, her meeting with DCP Sanjeet VJ North East at the Amrutahalli police station on August 9 did not provide the reassurance she had hoped for. The reported lack of urgency and adequate response from the police has further intensified the family’s concern and public interest in the case.
The mysterious circumstances surrounding Gupta’s disappearance and the subsequent financial transactions have fueled speculation and heightened the urgency of the investigation.
