The World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 1 at Mumbai’s Jio World Convention Centre, marks a transformative moment for India’s media and entertainment sector. Running until May 4, this inaugural summit brings together over 10,000 delegates, 1,000 creators, 300 companies, and 350 startups from more than 90 countries, positioning India as a global hub for creative industries . Spanning 15,000 square meters, WAVES 2025 features leading exhibitors like Netflix, Amazon, Google, and Meta, alongside Indian giants such as Reliance, Yash Raj Films, and Tata. Key attractions include the Bharat Pavilion, showcasing India’s cultural revolution, and a Gaming Arena highlighting the booming esports sector .
The summit aims to unlock a $50 billion market by 2029, fostering innovation across broadcasting, animation, gaming, and digital media. With sessions led by industry leaders, including a keynote by Mukesh Ambani, WAVES 2025 underscores India’s commitment to becoming a global leader in content creation and entertainment technology
