West Bengal Durga Puja Carnival 2025 at Kolkata on 04/10/2025

I saw the carnival with great interest but could not understand why the Durga Matas were compelled to halt in the presence of the Chief Minister. In West Bengal, the Matas were made to pause for 3 minutes to show respect to Mamata, the Chief Minister. Is it justified or religious?

The carnival should be organized to showcase our tradition and culture before the UNESCO team for world recognition. I found that the carnival looked more like the 26th January parade on Kartavya Path, Delhi, held to show respect to our Honourable President. In that case, various government organizations and our defence staff display their activities and performances to show how strong we are.

So, the concept of the Durga Puja Carnival has totally changed under the modern unmarried Chief Minister. A carnival means a festival involving procession, music, and dance, where there is no provision for a separate platform for the Chief Minister. This is a new kind of dishonour to our Durga Mata.

Madam has already dishonoured our Durga Mata when she inaugurated the Durga Puja wearing a hijab, lighting the candle with her left hand, and throwing used charanamrita towards Durga Mata—after being busy dancing and playing. There are so many incidents of dishonouring our Hindu religion by CM Mamata.

So, she is facing unwanted problems — such as the death of people by electric shock and floods in North Bengal where people were killed — while our CM was busy dancing, playing dandiya, and playing the violin like Nero when Rome was burning on 4th October.

The Chief Minister has not only dishonoured the Hindu religion but also the Muslim religion. Being a Hindu Brahmin and unmarried woman, she attended namaz against Muslim religious rules and read kalma (incorrectly). The CM organized Jagannath darshan at Puri using government funds illegally and is also building a Durga Mandir. Why could the CM not build a replica of Mecca–Medina in West Bengal, when she and her clown MLAs sang a song about Mecca–Medina in a Puja mandap?

In short, the CM was earlier against the Hindu religion — when she stated that Hinduism is not good. Now, when she has realized that her best friend Suvendu will use the issue to organize Hindu votes in the 2026 election, she inaugurated the Durga Puja wearing a hijab.

But my Muslim friends do not want to understand the character of Mamata. They are under the impression that if BJP comes to power in West Bengal in 2026, they will face problems. This is not true. When BJP came to power at the Centre, how many Muslims were thrown out of India?
