Suresh Srivastava – New EC member of WFUNA

NEW DELHI-Suresh Srivastava, Secretary General of IFUNA and Former Vice Chairman of the World Federation of United Nations Associations, Geneva (WFUNA) has been elected Member of the Executive Committee of WFUNA, a world body of United Nations Associations which was established along with United Nations to support UN movement at People’s level. Elections of the WFUNA were held on 11th November 2022 for the 43rd Plenary Assembly where India received 33 votes out of total 39 votes casted by different member countries. Srivastava will have six year term in the WFUNA Executive Committee. Srivastava is practising lawyer in Delhi High Court and associated with UN Movement for more than four decades

IFUNA, affiliated to the World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA) Geneva, enjoys special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations brings people and issues together to promote collective action for a sustainable world.

IFUNA is the only body to represent India in the UN Forums. Considered as the extended arm of the United Nations Organization, both WFUNA and IFUNA together strive to propagate the ideals of the United Nations to the people at large.

IFUNA was established more than six decades ago to promote the objectives of the United Nations and its Specialized Agencies, IFUNA is a Non-governmental, Voluntary, Non-profit Organization working for International Peace and Understanding. It strives to focus its programmes and activities around the vital concerns of the United Nations, like Peace, International Understanding, Environment and Human Rights. IFUNA maintains close relations with Government of India, Press and Diplomatic Missions interested in United Nations activities.
