Supreme Court To Man For Calling Judge “Terrorist”: “You’ll Realize In Jail”

On 25 November, the Supreme Court expressed outrage over a litigant referring to a court judge as a terrorist and ordered the registry to send him a show-cause notice asking him to explain why he should not face criminal contempt charges for scandalizing the judge.
The man requested an early hearing in an ongoing service matter, and the Supreme Court was considering his application.
After seeing the file, the petitioner’s attorney informed the bench that he had requested the litigant to offer an unqualified apology.
The lawyer declared that he would only represent the man if he extended an unqualified apology.
It stated that the petitioner would receive a show-cause notice from the registry asking him to provide justification for not being charged with criminal contempt for embarrassing a judge in this court, and it set the matter for hearing in three weeks.
The petitioner’s unconditional apology was noted by the bench.
The bench explained that it is giving the man three weeks to submit an affidavit outlining his actions so that the court can determine whether the apology is sincere or not.
