ICCR President Dr. Vinay Sahasrabuddhe visited Yangon, Myanmar to strengthen ties with Indian diaspora in August 2023.

Yangon/Kolkata: ICCR President Dr. Vinay Sahasrabuddhe visited Yangon, Myanmar to strengthen ties with Indian diaspora in August 2023 .

ICCR President, Dr. Vinay Sahasrabuddhe,  was welcomed by the Global Organization of People of Indian Origin (GOPIO)  at the India Center Yangon, Myanmar. The program was graced by  Ambassador of India to Myanmar Shri Vinay Kumar, Mr. Ashish Kandhway (Director of Cultural department), and GOPIO’s Core Committee members.

Mr. Ravindra Jain, President of GOPIO, presented a glimpse of GOPIO’s events and future plans were discussed with ICCR guidelines. A memento was presented to Dr. Vinay Sahasrabuddhe by Ravindra Jain & Roli Jain, acknowledging ICCR’s contribution to promoting Indian culture globally.

Dr. Vinay Sahasrabuddhe acknowledged and appreciated various activities of GOPIO to strengthen cultural ties with India. He also mentioned about further strengthening multi dimensional relationship with India. 

The program reinforced cultural ties and laid the foundation for future collaboration between  ICCR and GOPIO , fostering a vibrant Indian diaspora community in Myanmar.
