A recent incident along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir has raised intrigue as an Afghan national was apprehended by the Army. The individual, identified as Abdul Wahid, was arrested near the Poonch district’s LoC, sparking curiosity about his motives and circumstances.
Initially believed to be a resident of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), Abdul Wahid’s true identity as an Afghan national has come to light. The man, who is in his early 20s, was captured in Dabi-Basuni village, situated ahead of the border fence in the Balakote sector, following an intrusion on Monday.
Upon his arrest, Wahid was transferred to the police for further investigation. Authorities are working to ascertain the reasons behind his attempt to cross the LoC and enter the region. Despite his arrest, no incriminating evidence was found in his possession.
This incident marks a unique development, as it is the first time that an Afghan national has been arrested along the LoC in the Mendhar sub-division of Poonch.
