A 32-year-old woman has accused actor Sharad Kapoor of molestation, claiming he summoned her to his house to discuss a project. She said the star made unwelcome approaches and sent filthy messages.The Khar Police have filed a complaint against him under Sections 74, 75, and 79 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and he has been summoned for questioning on the charges.
According to police officials, the event took place on November 26, 2024, when the victim was summoned to the actor’s office under the pretense of discussing work on video reels.
An FIR was filed against the actor on grounds of sexual harrasment by Mumbai Police on November 27. A statement has been recorded against the actor as well by the complainant. “Upon arrival, she claimed Kapoor was inappropriately dressed and attempted to assault her. Following the incident, she received obscene messages from Kapoor, including a voice note that further distressed her. The victim has sought legal action against him, highlighting the need for accountability in the entertainment industry,” as per Police officials.
There has been no reply or official statement from the actor regarding the claims made against him thus far.
Sharad made his Bollywood acting debut in 1994 with the film Mera Pyara Bharat. He has worked with the majority of the industry’s stars, yet he is best recognized for playing supporting characters and antagonists. He has appeared in various films, including Josh, which co-starred Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Lakshya, which stars Dastak and Hrithik Roshan. Some of his most recent projects include acting in the political drama Jai Ho, which stars Salman Khan.
