India is set to strengthen its defence partnership with Indonesia through the supply of BrahMos coastal defence systems, with reports indicating a deal valued between $200 million and $350 million (around ₹3000 crore). The agreement aims to deploy BrahMos batteries along Indonesia’s coastlines, significantly enhancing maritime security and deterrence capabilities in the Indo-Pacific region. This marks Indonesia as the second Southeast Asian nation, after the Philippines, to acquire the missile system, reflecting India’s growing role as a defence exporter and strategic partner in the region. The deal also aligns with India’s push for indigenous defence manufacturing and expanding global military cooperation.
