Group Captain Pankaj Upadhyay Takes Charge as Commandant of Embarkation Headquarters, Kolkata

Kolkata, July 23: Group Captain Pankaj Upadhyay on Thursday assumed command as the Commandant of Embarkation Headquarters, Kolkata, succeeding Group Captain A.L. Kishore during a formal change of command ceremony.

Embarkation Headquarters, Kolkata plays a crucial role in coordinating the movement of personnel and military equipment for the Indian Armed Forces across the eastern region through rail, air, and sea routes. The ceremony marked the conclusion of Group Captain A.L. Kishore’s distinguished tenure and the beginning of a new chapter under Group Captain Upadhyay’s leadership.

Commissioned into the Logistics Branch of the Indian Air Force in 2003, Group Captain Upadhyay is an alumnus of the Air Force Academy, Military Institute of Technology, Pune, and the College of Defence Management. During his career, he has held several key appointments at operational units, training establishments, and Air and Command Headquarters. His extensive logistics and operational experience is expected to further strengthen the organisation’s vital role in supporting tri-service military operations across eastern India.
