Munish Jhajharia Elected President of Merchants’ Chamber of Commerce & Industry

Shri Munish Jhajharia was elected President of the Merchants’ Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI) on Wednesday, September 23. Founded in 1901, MCCI is one of the premier trade and industry bodies in eastern India. Jhajharia succeeds Smt. Priti A. Sureka, Director of Emami Ltd., who highlighted the Chamber’s long-standing role in bringing together Kolkata’s business community and supporting inclusive economic growth. Shri Anirudh Jhunjhunwala was elected Senior Vice President, while Smt. Mamta Binani became Vice President. Sureka also noted the West Bengal government’s focus on investment, industrialisation, employment and infrastructure.
