Kangana Ranaut Condemns Character Assassination of Tamil Nadu Actress

Actor-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut has spoken out against the alleged character assassination of a Tamil Nadu actress, saying women should not be subjected to public attacks or judged because of their personal relationships. Her remarks came amid a controversy surrounding actress Trisha Krishnan and rumours about her alleged links with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay.

Ranaut criticised what she described as a recurring tendency to target women when controversies involving personal relationships emerge. She said that women are often made the primary subjects of scrutiny and abuse, while similar attention is not directed towards the men involved.

The BJP Member of Parliament from Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi said such behaviour reflects a larger social problem in which a woman’s personal life is used to question her character and dignity. She stressed that character assassination should not be accepted as a normal part of public discourse.

The controversy has gained attention following online discussions and comments surrounding Trisha Krishnan. The actress has reportedly faced criticism and inappropriate remarks linked to speculation about her relationship with Vijay. The issue has triggered a wider debate over the treatment of women in public life and the manner in which rumours about their private lives are discussed on social media.
