Deported from the United States, Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Member in Punjab Police Custody

Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav stated here on Tuesday that a close associate of incarcerated gangster Lawrence Bishnoi was taken into custody by Punjab Police’s Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) after his deportation from Canada, marking a significant victory against organised crime. When the accused, Karamveer Singh, a resident of Bahadur Ke village in Ludhiana, arrived at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in New Delhi, the AGTF squad arrested him.
The event occurred a few days after Amritpal Singh, also known as Amrit Dalam, a prominent member of the Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang, was extradited from Moldova by Punjab Police with the help of central authorities.
According to Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Promod Ban, accused Karamveer Singh has a long criminal history in Punjab, including at least five cases involving murder, attempted murder, armed robbery, and extortion.
According to the ADGP, more research is being done to determine his operational ties, illegal financial sources, and affiliations to other gang members.According to DGP Gaurav Yadav, Lawrence’s brother Anmol Bishnoi, who is also wanted in many cases in the US, received logistical support and a hiding place from accused Karamveer Singh. According to the Mohali (SAS Nagar) FIR, he was wanted. On September 3, a Look Out Circular (LOC) was started.
