Kharagpur : A colourful and inspiring Art Workshop was organised by Kalaindriya Creatives in association with St. Agnes Branch School, in Hijli, at IIT Kharagpur, providing students with a joyful platform to explore their creativity, imagination and artistic abilities.
The workshop was conducted under the creative guidance of Indira Nemani, Lead Artist of Kalaindriya Creatives, with the vision of “Embracing Nature Through Art and Creativity.”The programme aimed to encourage children to express themselves freely through art, develop creative thinking and build a deeper awareness of nature through engaging and enjoyable artistic activities.
The students participated with great enthusiasm in a range of creative activities, including drawing and nature-inspired artwork. They explored different ideas and themes, including nature and animals, and expressed their imagination through colours, forms and visual storytelling. The workshop created a lively and positive environment where children could experiment, learn and enjoy the process of creating art.
As part of ‘Kalaindriya Creatives’ initiative to connect children with nature through creative learning, the workshop also included clay toy-making activities. Through this hands-on experience, students explored the process of shaping clay into imaginative forms while developing an appreciation for nature, traditional art practices and the importance of caring for the environment. The activity brought together learning, creativity and fun, making the workshop meaningful and memorable for the young participants.
The programme was conducted under the guidance and supervision of the Principal and dedicated teachers of St. Agnes Branch School. Their constant encouragement and support motivated the students to participate confidently and enthusiastically. Their cooperation played an important role in making the workshop engaging and successful.
A particularly memorable moment of the workshop was the presentation of handmade artworks created by the students to members of the media as a token of love and appreciation. The artworks featured creative representations of animals and reflected the imagination, patience and artistic skills of the young participants. This thoughtful gesture added warmth and meaning to the occasion.
The sincere efforts of Kalaindriya Creatives, led by artist Indira Nemani, along with the Principal, teachers and students of St. Agnes Branch School, contributed to making the workshop a successful and enriching experience.
The workshop not only encouraged children to explore and enjoy art but also reflected Kalaindriya Creatives’ vision of nurturing creativity, promoting environmental awareness and making art an engaging and meaningful part of children’s learning and growth.
