Suspects in an alleged terror plot near a UK air station are revealed.

The location of the men’s detention and the contents of the three white trucks that the men seem to have used have not been made public by UK authorities.

A bomb disposal robot was seen wandering between the vehicles in the woods close to the facility on Sunday, according to aerial footage. Two of the vans had their back doors open, and big black objects were strewn all over the ground. British Defense Minister Wes Streeting stated on Monday that he “want to speculate at this point of the investigation” when asked if a hostile foreign state might have been responsible for the event.

In July, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps noted Fairford’s use by US bombers, warning the UK that “any base used for aggression against Iranian territory constitutes a legitimate target for our forces.”

The Iranian embassy in London issued a statement Monday saying it “categorically rejects and strongly condemns the recent unfounded and malicious speculations published by some British individuals and media outlets attempting to link Iran to arrest of five suspects in the vicinity of RAF Fairford base.”

US President Donald Trump called the arrests “fantastic,” saying the US and the UK had the men under investigation for “a long time.” “Working with Britain, it was an amazing job,” Trump told reporters in Chicago. “They were looking to do big damage to our fort and working with the British worked out great.” “We had them under view for a long time, and we got them,” he said.

The US president’s claim has not been addressed by UK authorities. It’s unclear if the five males were being watched prior to their early Sunday morning arrival in the Fairford neighborhood. On Sunday, pictures of the guys with their hands tied behind their backs and no shirts surfaced in UK media.

According to a statement from counterterrorism police, they were arrested “on suspicion of planning of a terrorist act” after being initially detained under explosives possession regulations.On Saturday nite, a neighborhood resident claimed to have seen the males on her way home.

About an hour prior to the resident’s contact, counterterrorism police stated they had received a complaint “related to three suspicious vehicles which looked to be traveling toward the airfield.”  The householder had “a fragmentary image” of the scenario, according to Streeting, who also stated that the police and security agencies’ activity “goes place often unsung, unreported, for good cause.”  Many people were evacuated from their homes, and there is still a cordon around the area where the men were being held.
