News Mania Desk/ 2nd October 2026

Lucknow, September 23: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati has appointed her younger nephew Ishan Anand as the party’s new national convener, marking another major change in the party’s internal leadership structure. The decision was announced at a BSP national executive meeting in Lucknow. Ishan, who has completed an LLM and legal studies, will take on a key organisational role as the party prepares for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. His appointment comes days after Mayawati had announced that neither Ishan nor his elder brother Akash Anand would hold a political position in the BSP. Akash was subsequently removed from all party responsibilities.
