NCC Cadets’ Career in Jeopardy

NCC Directorate West Bengal and Sikkim in a press conference today at NCC Training Institute Kolkata informed the press that due to lack of funds from the State Government more than 50, 000 NCC cadets may not appear for ‘B’ and ‘C’ certificate examinations next year.

The State Government’s 25% contribution is not coming on time for which the camps are getting cancelled one after another. To appear for ‘B’ and ‘C’ Certificate Examinations at least one camp for ‘B’ and two camps for ‘C’ Certificate examination is necessary.

The cadets after getting good grading in the ‘B’ and ‘C’ certificate examinations and more than 55% marks in their graduation get exempted from the written test of the Combined Defence Services Examination. The meritorious cadets directly appear for SSB Interview to get into the armed forces.

Major General Udhay Shankar Sengupta, Additional Director General of NCC Directorate West Bengal and Sikkim told the press today about this grim situation.

More than 1, 00, 000 cadets from West Bengal and more than 13 lakhs cadets from all over India get military training for Army, Navy and Air Force every year.
