Air India CEO steps down as Board Chairman of LCC-arm

Campbell Wilson, CEO of Air India, has stepped down as Chairman of the airline’s low-cost subsidiary, Air India Express, according to an internal memo confirmed by the airline. Nipun Aggarwal, a current board member of Air India Express, will succeed Wilson as Chairman, while Basil Kwauk, Air India’s Chief Operations Officer, will join the board in Wilson’s place . This leadership change is part of Air India’s ongoing restructuring efforts under its transformation plan, Vihaan.AI. The plan aims to enhance operational efficiency, expand the fleet, and improve customer service. The appointment of Aggarwal and Kwauk is expected to provide clarity and accountability as the airline continues its integration process.
