NEW DELHI – Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has congratulated the English daily Garhwal Post on completing three decades of publication, describing credible, impartial and public interest-oriented journalism as the true strength of democracy.
In an exclusive message issued on the occasion of the newspaper’s 30th anniversary, Adityanath extended his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the editor, journalists, employees and readers of Garhwal Post.
The chief minister said that in a democracy, the media’s role extends beyond reporting events to shaping informed public opinion, strengthening good governance and promoting positive social awareness.
“Journalism that is impartial, credible and committed to public interest is the real strength of democracy,” he said.
Adityanath appreciated Garhwal Post for upholding these values during its three-decade journey and for providing authentic and serious coverage of Uttarakhand’s cultural heritage, developmental issues, environmental concerns and matters affecting the lives of its people.
Referring to India’s march towards becoming a developed nation under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the chief minister said the country was progressing towards the goal of Viksit Bharat during the Amrit Kaal, making the role of responsible and constructive journalism more important than ever.
He expressed confidence that Garhwal Post would continue to place national interest, public welfare and social good above all else while promoting public awareness, positivity and the spirit of national unity.
