30 year old nurse found dead in Kolkata hospital

On Wednesday nite, a nurse’s body was found at Kolkata’s Nilratan Sircar Medical College and Hospital (NRS). According to reports, the body was discovered in the facility’s lavatory. To get it, police had to smash into the closed door. Rupali Burman, 30, was identified as the nurse.

Staff members called the police after the toilet door had been closed for a long time and they received no response. The body was retrieved by police after forcing the door open, and it has since been taken for a post-mortem examination. The authorities are looking into the cause of death, which is still unknown.

Joint CP Crime Kunal Agarwal, speaking about the death of the nurse, said, “The matter came to light around 10:30 at night. She was a nurse in the gynaecology department of the hospital. The post-mortem of the body will be done today. The DD Homicide Department of Kolkata Police has already taken over the investigation. No suicide has been established so far. The forensic team is reaching soon. CCTV footage is also being investigated.”

The forensic team will soon arrive at the hospital to conduct additional research. In addition to the police inquiry into the inexplicable death of the NRS nurse, the health department has also initiated a separate investigation. An investigation committee has been formed, and the committee has been asked to submit a report to the health department within seven days.

The 30-year-old nurse was on duty on Wednesday nite, according to the preliminary inquiry. Her shift began at 8 PM. She took care of a patient at the High Dependency Unit (HDU) nursing station of the Gynaecology Department after reporting for duty. After that, she went to the HDU loo, where her body was eventually found.

There is a CCTV camera positioned outside the restroom. Sources claim that the footage, which the police have already confiscated, shows the order of events. According to police sources, the nurse went into the lavatory around 10:20 p.m. At 10:27 PM, her coworkers started calling out to her when she failed to return after a while.

However, there was no reaction from within, causing her coworkers to grow apprehensive. The bathroom door was eventually pushed open. Upon entering, her coworkers found her lying unconscious on the floor. Her coworkers hurried her for medical care after she was swiftly put on a trolley and inspected. However, she died before any doctor could attend to her.
