Kharagpur Division Organizes Tiranga Bike Rally to Mark Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign and 150 Years of Vande Mataram

Kharagpur: Kharagpur Division of South Eastern Railway organized a Tiranga Bike Rally at Kharagpur on 14 August 2026 as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign and the 3rd Phase of Commemoration of 150 Years of the National Song “Vande Mataram”.
The rally commenced at 08:00 hrs from SERSA Stadium, Kharagpur and culminated at Kharagpur Railway Station. The rally witnessed enthusiastic participation from railway officers and staff. Sanjeev Kumar Singh, ADRM/Infra, Kharagpur, and Prakash Kumar Panda, Sr. Divisional Security Commissioner/RPF, Kharagpur, along with RPF personnel and staff from various departments of Kharagpur Division, participated in the rally carrying the Tricolour and spreading the message of patriotism, national unity and pride in the National Flag.
Observance of Partition Horrors Remembrance Day
As part of the observance of Partition Horrors Remembrance Day, Kharagpur Division also organized various cultural programmes and activities across the Division. Members of the Divisional Cultural Association (DCA) presented cultural performances at various stations, including Kharagpur, Medinipur and Jhargram etc. highlighting the memories and sacrifices associated with the Partition and conveying the importance of peace, unity and harmony.


Commemoration of 150 Years of Vande Mataram
Kharagpur Division is also actively observing the 150th Commemoration of the National Song “Vande Mataram” through various activities. As part of the celebrations, instrumental renditions of “Vande Mataram” are being played at various railway stations across the Division. The instrumental rendition is being played without hampering or affecting regular train announcements, ensuring that passenger information and operational announcements continue uninterrupted.


Tricolour Illumination Across Railway Premises
To commemorate Independence Day, Kharagpur Division has also undertaken special illumination of station buildings, station premises and the Divisional Office in Tricolour lights. The colourful illumination adds to the festive spirit and reflects the pride and patriotic fervour associated with the national celebrations.
Through these initiatives, Kharagpur Division is actively engaging railway employees, passengers and the general public in the celebrations, promoting the values of patriotism, unity, remembrance and national pride while paying tribute to the rich legacy of the National Song “Vande Mataram”.
