Fire at Madhyamgram Car Showroom Guts 30 Vehicles

Madhyamgram: At least 30 vehicles were gutted after a major fire broke out at a car showroom on Jessore Road in Madhyamgram, North 24 Parganas, in the early hours of Monday.

The blaze erupted around 4:45 am and rapidly spread through the showroom. Eight fire tenders from Madhyamgram, Birati and other stations battled the flames for nearly three hours before bringing the situation under control.

There were no reports of casualties or injuries. Firefighters continued cooling operations after extinguishing the blaze.

Madhyamgram Fire Station Officer Shubhashis Nath said the showroom reportedly lacked an adequate firefighting or fire-safety system. Police said the exact cause of the fire would be determined after an investigation.

The incident also caused significant traffic congestion along Jessore Road.
