Konda Surekha Says She Did Nothing Wrong After Removal From Revanth Reddy Cabinet

Former Telangana minister Konda Surekha has said she committed no wrongdoing following her removal from Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s cabinet, questioning the decision and asserting that she was not given a fair opportunity to present her side.

In her first reaction to the development, Surekha said she had already responded to the show-cause notices issued to her and questioned the basis on which disciplinary action was taken against her. She also raised doubts over an unsigned communication related to the decision, suggesting that the circumstances surrounding her removal needed greater clarity.

Surekha alleged that the action against her could be linked to political differences and described it as an instance of political vendetta. She maintained that she had not violated any party discipline and said she was prepared to explain her position if given an opportunity.

The former minister also defended her daughter, Konda Sushmitha Patel, whose remarks against Revanth Reddy and his family had become a point of contention. Surekha argued that her daughter is an adult and should be responsible for her own statements. She questioned why she should face consequences for comments made independently by her daughter.

Surekha further questioned whether similar action had been taken against other Congress leaders over controversial statements. She suggested that there appeared to be inconsistency in the way disciplinary matters were being handled within the party. Meanwhile, Revanth Reddy announced the appointment of three women to important positions in Telangana, signalling a reshuffle of responsibilities within the government and party structure.

Surekha said she had not yet taken a decision about her political future. While maintaining that she had done nothing wrong, she indicated that she would consider her next course of action after assessing the situation and developments within the party.
