Kharagpur Truck Owners’ Association Organises 13th Annual Blood Donation Camp

Kharagpur, West Midnapore : The Kharagpur Truck Owners’ Association organised a blood donation camp at Rabindra Institute in Golebazar, Kharagpur, as part of its ongoing social service activities. The association has been conducting the initiative for the past 13 years.

A medical team from Nayagram Blood Centre, Jhargram, attended the camp. The team included Dr B. Murmu, Kuntal Karmakar, Rajesh Jana, Sikha Bhumia and Bijoy Lakh Dutta.

Pratibha Haldar, Inspector-in-Charge of the Women Police Station, of Kharagpur, attended the programme as the chief guest. Several dignitaries were present as guests of honour, including D. Basanti, Councillor of Ward 21; Abhishek Kumar Agarwal, Councillor of Ward 16; A. D. Barman, DCCI, Paschim Medinipur; Jagabandhu Singha of PPMJ 2 KSB Samity; Lasi Malima Singha of HWI; Jaya Das Singha, Social worker; D. Madhusudan Rao, Town President of HUM Party; Badal Das and Charanjit Singh of the BJP; Debasish Chaudhary; Social worker Munmun; Javed Ahmed Khan, Potato and Onion Secretary; and Social Worker Anis Rehman.

The association’s President Jyotirmoy Banerjee, Secretary Ujjwal Kumar Das and Cashier Abdul Sattar led the programme. Members Amar Kumar, Syed Bahamatullah, Ranjit Kartik, Lalan Yadav, Ram Chand Gupta, Rajesh Kumar Gupta, S. K. Sahajada and Jagannath Methi actively supported the event.

The programme was anchored by Munmun Shukla and hosted by S. A. Khan.

Community members participated enthusiastically, with several donors coming forward to help save lives. The association’s 13-year-long blood donation initiative reflects its continued commitment to social responsibility, humanitarian service and community welfare.
