Hindi Fortnight-2026 Inaugurated in Kharagpur Division

Kharagpur: Hindi Fortnight-2026 was inaugurated today in an enthusiastic atmosphere at the Kharagpur Division of South Eastern Railway. Aimed at promoting the increased use of Hindi and raising awareness about the Official Language, various Hindi competitions, workshops, and cultural programs are being organized in the division from September 14 to September 28, 2026.
The Hindi Fortnight was inaugurated today by the Divisional Railway Manager, Kharagpur. On this occasion, officers and staff were encouraged to maximize the use of Hindi and ensure its effective implementation as the Official Language.
Various competitions for officers and staff will be organized during the Hindi Fortnight. These include a Hindi General Knowledge quiz, Hindi elocution, Hindi essay writing, extempore speech, and Hindi noting and drafting. A special competition for the children of employees will also be held on the theme “The World of Mobile Phones and Changing Childhood.”
This year, contemporary topics have been selected for the Hindi essay competition, such as “The Role of Indian Railways in Building a Developed India,” “Technology and Human Sensitivity at the Workplace,” “One Nation, Many Languages—The Role of Hindi,” and “The Changing Face of Hindi in the Digital Age.”
A concluding ceremony and prize distribution event will be held on September 28, 2026. Prizes will be awarded to the winners of the various competitions, and outstanding contributions towards Hindi will be recognized and encouraged.
This initiative by the Kharagpur Division marks a significant step towards increasing the use of Hindi in official work, fostering a positive environment regarding the Official Language, and encouraging interest and creativity in Hindi among railway personnel.
