Rajnath Singh: India Will Safeguard Security Without Seeking Others’ Territory

New Delhi, September 27, 2026: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said India does not seek to occupy any country’s territory but will firmly protect its security and strategic autonomy when threatened. Addressing a Defence Conclave in New Delhi, he stressed that peace should not be mistaken for weakness and called national unity essential to national security.
Singh highlighted India’s growing role as a global defence supplier, noting that defence exports reached a record ₹38,424 crore in 2025–26, with a target of ₹50,000 crore by 2029. He also highlighted India’s expanding capabilities in missiles, drones, AI, space and other emerging technologies, while stressing greater self-reliance and private-sector participation in defence manufacturing.
