Organizational Meeting and Literary Gathering of the Kolkata District Branch of the Bangeeya Sahityik Anusandhan Trust Held at Rotary Sadan

On Sunday, 27 September 2026, the Kolkata District Branch of the Bangeeya Sahityik Anusandhan Trust organized an organizational meeting and literary gathering at Rotary Sadan.
Representing the State Committee, the programme was attended by Secretary M. Ruhul Amin, Hooghly District President Naushad Mallik, South 24 Parganas District Coordinator Sk Zulfikkar, member Prosenjit Sardar, Bhumi Member Sheikh Abdul Murad, and Rajani Mukherjee, a descendant of Swarnakumari Devi, sister of Rabindranath Tagore, among others.
The first session was devoted to organizational matters. With the consent of the district members present, the Kolkata District Committee for 2026 was formed.
The newly constituted committee is as follows:
- President: Ashif Shah
- Vice Presidents: Dr. Nurul Islam and Sheikh Anisur Rahman
- Secretary (Coordinator): Sabina Syed
- Joint Secretaries: Sadia Farhin and Mustafizur Rahman
- Treasurer: Md. Shamim
- Members: Md. Ayub Ali Khan, Rafia Sultana, Akলima Begum, Dr. Selina Yasmin, Md. Muqtada Hossain, Dr. Ashif Iqbal, Rehana Khatun, Muslima Khatun, Sheikh Abdul Murad, and Muhammad Salman Helal
- Observers: Dr. Mashihur Rahman and Sk Zulfikkar
The meeting also included a detailed review of various organizational matters concerning the district branch.
The second part of the programme featured a literary gathering, where members and literary enthusiasts presented their poems and creative works. Sadia Farhin’s recitation and Muslima Khatun’s musical performance added vibrancy and warmth to the occasion.
The entire programme was anchored by Sabina Syed, while Ashif Shah was responsible for its overall management and coordination.
The gathering concluded in an atmosphere of literary camaraderie, cultural enthusiasm, and renewed commitment to the activities of the Kolkata District Branch of the Bangeeya Sahityik Anusandhan Trust.
